Turn UCAS dates into a school plan
Before senior year
Confirm that the student has a coherent subject direction, identify any early-deadline courses, and establish who will manage the UCAS reference and predicted grades.
Set an internal deadline
Choose a school deadline early enough to review the education section, complete the reference, resolve questions, and submit without deadline-day risk. The reference must be complete before the application can be sent.
Plan separately for October applicants
Oxford, Cambridge, and most medicine, dentistry, and veterinary courses use the October deadline. Admissions tests, written work, interviews, or other course requirements can create earlier planning needs.
Track conditions after decisions
Record the exact terms of each offer and the student's response dates. An offer can remain conditional on pending qualifications or other requirements.
